The challenge

What made this hard

Gaming audiences are unusually unforgiving about latency and presentation. The platform needed immersive, graphics-heavy visuals in the browser without compromising frame rate, and a real-time layer that stayed responsive as concurrent players climbed.

Our approach

How we built it

  • Built the front end in React with WebGL-driven visuals, keeping heavy rendering off the main thread so the interface stays responsive under load.
  • Implemented the real-time multiplayer layer on Node.js, with connection handling designed around reconnection and partial network failure rather than an ideal-case path.
  • Structured the infrastructure to scale horizontally, so concurrency spikes around events and launches are a capacity setting rather than an incident.
